Imminent

the countdown begins
I hear the fear shrieking inside
and I cannot silence the cry
the amplitude rises in relation to my mind
a second has gone by

our fate is imminent
I cannot cower, I must commit
all within that last moment
I'll rise against the angst
only a minute awaits

frozen words burn my tongue
as i struggle with confrontation
I melt away the encumbrance
my thoughts spill upon us
the hour is now
